Here is a quick look at the week ahead. Students in grades 5-8 have a college field trip on Monday to Cal State San Marcos. The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. wear comfortable walking shoes. The CTE Class is going to Legoland on Wednesday and the bus will be leaving at 8:30, please make sure to arrive on time. Boys Soccer and Girls Softball will be practicing Monday-Thursday, from 3:15-4:30 p.m. The Arts Integration Team will be on campus on Thursday and Friday. This is a wonderful opportunity for our scholars to participate in a variety of art forms. See you all on Monday an hour earlier than usual since we have Daylight Savings Time on Sunday. #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars

It is Read Across America Week and tonight Cottonwood is hosting Family Reading Night. Tamales, hot chocolate, water, and sweet treats will be on sale starting at 5:00 p.m. The show will start at 5:30. At this morning's Monday Meet-Up, students were recognized for perfect attendance, the classes with the highest attendance percentages were awarded trophies and our PTO came to pull raffle tickets to award three of our scholars with bicycles. Our Cougars earned raffle tickets over the past triad by having perfect and outstanding attendance, scoring at grade level or making gains in their reading lexile assessments and math quantiles, and having great behavior. The fifth triad started this week and students will have six weeks to earn chances to earn three bicycles donated by Jojoba Hills at the end of this triad.
