Here is a quick look at the week ahead. School is closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. On Tuesday, Cottonwood will be hosting Grad Walk at 1:30 p.m. This is a wonderful way to celebrate our former Cougars who will graduating this year. On Wednesday, our 3rd Grade Scholars are hosting a Living Museum between 9:30-10:30 a.m. in Room 5 and our 2nd Grade Scholars are hosting a Classroom Market between 10:40-11:15 a.m. in Room 9. On Thursday, our TK, K and 4th Grade Scholars will be traveling to the Penny Pickles Museum in Temecula for the day. On Friday, our 5th-8th Grade Students will be going to Castle Park for their End of the Year Reward Trip and our TK-4th Graders will stay on campus and enjoy field day hosted by our PTO. May is Mental Health Month and Cottonwood was fortunate to host meditation workshops in the Counseling Center led by Miss Bohdi who challenged our Cougars to control their breathing giving them the super power of the pause to collect their thoughts and make strategic decisions rather than impulsive reactions when they are in stressful situations. Inspired by the text, Enemy Pie, our Kindergarteners made Friendship Pie. Our Scholars were quick to determine the perfect ingredients needs for such a wonderful confection! They added, Kindness, Love, Sharing, Caring, Giving, Welcoming, Spending Time Together, Playing with Each Other, and Finding Out What You Have in Common. In the library this week, Mrs. Kelly used the book, Mistaco, to help students find a whimsical way to tuck their mistakes and problems into a taco and eat them. The students had fun making their own tacos tucking in their mistakes from the week. #TheHUSDWay #CottonwoodCougars
